Transportation Careers

At this unprecedented time during the COVID-19 pandemic, there are more job openings than ever. Yet, many people are still struggling to find the right career fit, for many reasons. It’s creating frustrating situations across Illinois.

Thanks to the support of the General Assembly and Governor Pritzker in 2019, we have many openings today and many more in the coming years under the Rebuild Illinois program to put people to work on strengthening our critical transportation infrastructure. We have created the informational packet included here along with a library of resources at our website, and we wanted to provide it to you to help you inform your constituents about our opportunities.

This is not just a list of job openings, although we are including job board information for many of our members here. Careers in transportation and construction often have certain educational, training and experience requirements, and it’s important your constituents understand what they need to do to take advantage of the pipelines for the career they want to pursue.

Leaders of the Transportation for Illinois Coalition created this informational toolkit to easily highlight career pipelines offered by our members in the transportation and construction industries.

Available Careers

The list of good-paying, dependable and rewarding jobs and careers in our industries are nearly endless. Work with your hands as laborers, bricklayers, pipefitters or truck drivers on the roadways. Support our teams in the field as engineers, marketing pros or office professionals. Turn hard work into a great career in management.
