Illinois needs a new transportation capital program.
While our roads are crumbling, the equivalent of 11 cents of the 19-cent state motor fuel tax is being diverted from roads to fund general state government programs. We need to stop the diversion of highway user fees!
There has been no State capital funding to maintain or improve the trains, buses, tracks and stations since 2004. We need transit capital funding now!
27,000 fewer jobs will be supported by the road program if Illinois fails to pass a transportation funding measure. We need to put Illinoisians to work today!
