TFIC Federal
Reauthorization Policy Groups
Former TFIC Federal Affairs Committee Chair Bill Grams outlined a plan to create a series of working groups to study and develop recommendations on issues that are part of the federal transportation re-authorization debate currently underway in Washington. Read more details about the plan below.
In accordance with the plan, TFIC created 9 policy groups:
- Interstate Reconstruction/Expansion
- Bridges
- Earmark Reform
- Corridors of National Significance
- Freight
- Public-Private Partnerships
- Public Transit
- Programmatic and Planning
- Intercity Passenger Rail
The policy groups met during the spring of 2009 and developed the following recommendations: 2009 Transportation Authorization Recommendations developed by TFIC. These recommendations were presented to the Illinois delegation during the May 2009 Fly-In. However, our work is not done. The reauthorization debate in Washington is ongoing and TFIC is monitoring the developments. As needed, the policy groups may be reconvened to address issues. We encourage your input. The policy groups are open to anyone with or without a TFIC affiliation. If you would like to participate, please email TFIC staff, with the following information:
Your name, affiliation, address, phone number, email address and policy group(s) you are interested in joining.
